MODULE CH1301: The Impact of Chemistry

Aim:
The aim of this module will be to provide a general introduction to the enormous positive impact chemistry has on our lives and all aspects of society. Starting with the chemical origins of life in the primordial soup, it will explore fuel and energy, the great challenge of global warming, forensic chemistry, chemistry and the environment, and chemistry in food production. Students will also have the opportunity to work in groups to prepare and deliver a presentation on an assigned topic in an area covered by the course.
